If you've added your businesscards.io pass to Apple Wallet on your iPhone but it isn't showing up on your Apple Watch, the issue is almost always one of four things. Run through these in order.
1. Make sure your Watch is paired and connected
Open the Watch app on your iPhone. If your Watch shows as disconnected, fix that first. Bring your iPhone and Watch within Bluetooth range. Wallet sync only happens when the two devices can talk to each other.
2. Check your Watch's Wallet settings
The Watch needs to be told to mirror your iPhone's Wallet (or to add specific passes).
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
- Tap Wallet & Apple Pay.
- Look for Mirror my iPhone. If it's off, turn it on.
- Scroll down to Passes on Watch. Your businesscards.io pass should be listed. If you have it set to "Don't show on Watch," change it.
Within a few seconds the pass should appear on your Watch.
3. Update iOS and watchOS
Old versions of iOS and watchOS sometimes have Wallet sync bugs. Make sure both are on the latest update available. On iPhone: Settings → General → Software Update. On Watch (through the Watch app on iPhone): General → Software Update.
4. Re-add the pass
If the pass still doesn't show up, remove it and add it again. This refreshes the link between Wallet and the Watch.
- On your iPhone, open Wallet, tap the pass, tap the three-dot menu, tap Pass Details, then Remove Pass.
- Open the businesscards.io iOS app and add the pass back via Add to Apple Wallet.
- Check your Watch a few seconds later.
Why this happens
Apple's Wallet sync between iPhone and Watch is mostly invisible and mostly reliable, but it can get out of sync after iOS updates, Watch unpair/repair flows, or if the Watch was offline for an extended period. Re-adding the pass is the equivalent of a small reset.
