Your first card takes about five minutes to set up. When you sign up, we create your first card for you automatically with your name and email already on it — all that's left is filling in the details (job, contact info, a photo). Your card is live at a sharable URL the moment you save.
Step by step

Sign up. Go to businesscards.io/users/sign_up and create an account. Every paid plan starts with a 7-day free trial, so you don't need to put down a card to try it out.

Open your first card. Your first card is created automatically when you sign up, with your name and email already filled in. You'll land on the Cards page — your dashboard listing every card on your account — where you can open it in the editor. You can come back to the Cards page anytime you want to edit it later.

Add your name and job. Enter your first and last name. Add a job title and a company if you have one. The headline field below is a good place for a one-line description of what you do.

Add contact info. You can add multiple emails, phone numbers, addresses, and websites. Pick the type for each one (mobile, work, home, etc.) and mark one as "preferred" if you want it to be the default.

Upload a photo. Click the photo placeholder and choose an image. You'll be able to crop it to a square. A clear headshot tends to work best, but a logo is fine if you'd rather not use a face.

Add social profiles (optional). Open the Social Profiles section and add your LinkedIn, Instagram, X, or any other network you want to show. Each profile gets its own icon on your card.

Save. Click Save at the top of the editor. Your card is now live. Visit the URL shown at the top of the page (it looks like
businesscards.io/c/abc123) to see what other people will see.
What happens after you save
Once saved, your card has a public profile page at /c/your-slug. A QR code is generated automatically. You can add the card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet so it's always one tap away on your phone. If you upgrade beyond the free trial, you can also set a custom slug (so the URL reads businesscards.io/c/your-name instead of a random string).
A few tips
- You don't need to fill in every field. A name, a photo, and one or two contact methods is enough for a useful card.
- You can edit your card anytime from the Cards page. Changes are live the moment you save, including on passes already in someone's Apple Wallet.
- If you have multiple roles or businesses, click Create a Card on the Cards page to add more cards. Each one has its own URL and QR code.
