Resetting your password | businesscards.io

Resetting your password

Forgot your password? Resetting it takes about a minute. You'll need access to the email address you used when you signed up.

Steps

  1. Go to the password reset page.
  2. Enter the email address you use to sign in.
  3. Click Send me reset instructions.
  4. Check your email. The reset message arrives within a minute or two. If it's not in your inbox, check spam or promotions.
  5. Open the email and click the reset link.
  6. Enter your new password twice. Pick something at least 8 characters long.
  7. Click Change my password.
  8. You're signed in automatically.

If you don't get the email

  • Check spam. Reset emails sometimes get caught by spam filters, especially on corporate Gmail or Outlook accounts.
  • Try the exact email address you used to sign up. If you have multiple email accounts, the reset only works against the one your businesscards.io account is registered to.
  • The link expires after a few hours. If you don't open it quickly, request a new one.

If you signed in with SSO

If your team uses Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or another SAML identity provider, your password isn't actually stored with businesscards.io. Reset it with your IT department or your identity provider's password reset flow. There's nothing to reset on our end.

If you no longer have access to the email

The reset link is sent to your registered email and that's the only way back into the account on a self-serve basis. If you've lost access to the email entirely (former employer, deleted account), contact support@businesscards.io. We'll work with you to verify your identity and get the account back.

Wrong password too many times

For security, we lock accounts that have several failed sign-in attempts in a short period. The lock clears automatically after a short wait. If you get an "account locked" message, give it a few minutes and try again, ideally after resetting your password so you're sure of it.
