You can cancel any time, including during the free trial, from the team page. Only team owners can cancel. Here's the full picture of what happens and when.
How to cancel
- Sign in and open the Teams page from your account menu.
- Click your team to open team details.
- Find the subscription section and click Cancel subscription.
- You'll see a short flow asking why you're canceling. This goes through our cancellation tool (Churnkey) and may offer you a discount or a pause. You can decline both and continue.
- Confirm the cancellation.
Once you've confirmed, the cancellation is queued. You won't be charged again.
What happens during the rest of the billing period
Your cards stay active and work normally until the end of the period you've already paid for. If you cancel on the 5th of the month and your plan renews on the 20th, you keep full access until the 20th. We don't refund the unused part of a paid period by default; if you're within 5 days of your last payment, see the refunds policy.
What happens after the period ends
On the renewal date your subscription ends. After that, your cards are no longer accessible publicly: anyone who opens your card URL or scans your QR code sees a page saying the card is unavailable. Your data isn't deleted, though, so you can come back and reactivate later.
Canceling during the free trial
The cancellation flow is the same. The 7-day trial ends immediately and you're not charged. Your account stays accessible until the end of the trial period (the date when your trial would have rolled into a paid subscription), then becomes unavailable like above.
Coming back later
Sign back in any time and reactivate by picking a plan again. Your cards (and the URLs you've already shared) will work again the moment payment goes through. Anyone who saved your contact info during your active period still has it; you don't have to redistribute anything.
Subscriptions started in the iOS app
If you subscribed via the iOS app (Apple in-app purchase), cancellation runs through Apple, not us. Open Settings on your iPhone → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → businesscards.io → Cancel Subscription. The dashboard will note this if your sub is Apple-managed.
