Your profile page is what people land on when they open your card link, scan your QR code, or tap your Apple Wallet pass. It works in any browser, on any phone or computer. No app required, no sign-in. That's the whole point.
What's on the page
From top to bottom, a profile page typically shows:
- Hero area with your photo, name, headline, and (optionally) a background image or pattern in your brand color.
- Work section with your job title, company, and company logo. If you have multiple positions, each one appears with its own logo.
- Bio if you've added a note about yourself.
- Contact buttons for the emails, phone numbers, and websites you've added. Tapping a phone number opens the dialer. Tapping an email opens the email app.
- Social icons for any networks you've linked (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, TikTok, and so on).
- Save to Contacts button that downloads your details as a vCard, so the visitor can save you to their phone in one tap.
- Send me your info button (if you've enabled it) that lets the visitor send their own details back to you.
- Video embed if you've added a YouTube or Vimeo URL.
The exact layout depends on the theme you've picked, but the controls and contents are the same.
The URL
Every card has a public URL. By default it looks like businesscards.io/c/abc123def456. On Team plans and above, you can set a custom slug so it reads as businesscards.io/c/your-name instead.
The URL is what your QR code points to. Changing your custom slug while keeping the original short slug both work, so old prints don't break.
What gets tracked
Every time someone opens your profile, we record a click. Tapping a phone number, email, social icon, or the save-to-contacts button is also tracked as its own click type. You can see all of this on the analytics page if you're on a plan that includes stats. No personal data about the visitor is captured beyond their approximate country and city.
Privacy
The profile page is public. Anyone with the URL can see it. Don't put anything on a card that you wouldn't want a stranger to see. If you need a card for sensitive contexts, create a separate card with only the information you want public.
